The book's key themes revolve around understanding people in a rapidly changing world, particularly within the banking or financial sector. As humans become busier, more distracted and increasingly anxious, the need for meaningful connections has never been greater.
The book aims to equip Nedbankers at all levels with the tools to create transformative experiences for themselves, their teams and their clients. The co-authors, including experts from design and marketing, bring a diverse range of perspectives to the table, ensuring a holistic approach to experience obsession.
A highlight of the book is how attention has become the new commodity and how cognitive overload can lead to sensory burnout. This theme emphasises the importance of purpose as a filter, allowing individuals to gravitate towards brands that resonate with their personal beliefs. The banking sector has been disrupted at unprecedented rates over the past 5 years. As a result, the book reveals how purposeful brands wrapped in exceptional experiences are emerging as winners.
The concept of 'fit', differentiating between a value proposition and a product, with a focus on the significance of problem–solution fit, product–market fit and commercial fit in the context of a rapidly changing industry.

As has become practice over the years, and the Nedbank Design Team rocked up to the venue to celebrate another year’s hard work and successes.
